Leamington Netball Club provides a friendly, well-established and safe sporting environment for women and girls in the Leamington Spa region and beyond.
The Club was founded in the 1950's under its original League title of Lockheed Netball Club. The Club has grown in size and strength and now fields a regional team as well as five senior and three junior teams in the Coventry & District Netball League.
The Club has been the starting block for a great many local girls and ladies, many of whom have continued to play the game in other areas of the country. We are extremely proud of our success which has seen players represent England and Wales as well as a number of counties including Warwickshire and Staffordshire. We also have youngsters who have been selected to train in England Talent camps, ensuring a bright future for the club and players.
The Club has competed in the National League for the past eight years and in 2006/07 is fielding a team in the new Regional division.
Our players are encouraged to develop skills to support the development of netball at the club and we currently have five ladies attending SCUK mentoring courses in coaching and umpiring, with qualified mentors within the Club providing additional support. All our coaches are qualified within the Club, and actively progress the award system. We ask all our volunteers to undergo CRB checks, and the Club has a Duty of Care policy which is strictly adhered to.
The Club encourages ladies of all ages to play netball and we have junior members as young as eleven right through to our most experienced club members, some of whom are over 50. Our Juniors represent Warwickshire at all levels, and compete in England Netball National Competitions. We also compete in the Coventry & District Netball Association Junior League at U12, U13, U14 and U16 levels.
We actively encourage new members and prior to the start of every season we hold trials which are used to determine the make-up of each of our teams for the following season.
